Towing guidelines
DANGER
Increased risk of accident if used under difficult
operating conditions!
When towing trailers under difficult operating con-
ditions, e.g. on gradients or icy, slippery surfaces,
the maximum safe load is determined by braking
performance and not the maximum towing capacity
of the tractor.
CAUTION
Risk of damage from
improper use!
– DoNOTusetruckst
o tow rail vehicles.
– Always operate th
e truck in a manner that
ensures safe dri
ving and guarantees that the
trailer can be br
aked when performing any
manoeuvre.
– Always couple t
he trailer firmly with the tow
coupling.
Observe the n
ominal tractive force and
weight befor
e transporting loads. Refer to the
identificati
on plate. Never exceed the nominal
capacity of t
he tow tractor. The maximum
drawbar pul
l is the maximum pull the tow
tractor c
an exert to overcome the starting
resistan
ce of the trailing load. (This being the
combined
weight of the tow tractor, trailer and
load).
NOTE
Platform truck: The tow tractor must only be
used with braked trailers.
NOTE
Tow tractor: Only braked trailers are permitted
for loads exceeding 9 t and when travelling on
downward slopes.
