Verti-Mix SF / Verti-Mix Double SF Version 06.12
10.5.4.1 Check coolant level
Daily check the coolant level of the cold / cooled-down diesel engine.
The correct coolant level is important for perfect functioning of the
engine cooling system.
1. Park the machine on even ground.
2. Unlock and open the intake air door.
3. Secure the intake air door against
accidental closing by means of the locking
bar.
4. Read off the coolant level of the cold /
cooled-down diesel engine at the level
indicator tube (1) of the compensating
reservoir (2).
5. Top up new appropriate coolant if the
coolant level has fallen below the "min."
marking (3). Observe the information in the
chapter "Top up coolant", page 226.
6. Close the intake air door such that the
locking mechanism of the intake air door
properly engages.
7. Check the locking mechanism of the intake
air door for proper engagement.
The intake air door is properly locked if it is
flush with the surrounding frame parts.

10.5.4.2 Top up coolant
DANGER
Risk of scalds or burns due to hot coolants explosively squirting
out under pressure!
Never open the cap (4) of the compensating reservoir (2) for the
coolant with the diesel engine being warm or hot. When the diesel
engine is warm or hot, the cooling circuit is under pressure.
Only open the cap when the diesel engine has cooled down or when
you can touch the cap with your bare hands.
When opening the cap of the compensating reservoir, first cover the
cap with a large cloth and turn the cap until the first stop to
depressurize. When depressurizing is finished, unscrew the cap
completely.
CAUTION
Risk of engine damage due to significant loss of coolant when
topping up coolant!
In case of significant coolant loss, top up coolant only with the diesel
engine cooled down, thus avoiding engine damage.
A significant loss of coolant implies leaks in the cooling circuit. Have
the cooling circuit immediately checked by an authorized workshop.
