3.4 Basic safety instructions
Basic safety instructions:
shall, as a basic principle, apply to the safe operation of the
machine,
are summarized in the subsections below.
3.4.1 General safety and accident prevention instructions
Observe the general national safety and accident prevention
regulations in addition to the safety instructions included in this
chapter!
Wear your personal protective equipment when carrying out
work on the machine!
Observe the warning and instruction signs attached to the
machine. They provide important information for the safe and
trouble-free operation of the machine!
Observe the activity-related safety instructions included in the
other chapters in addition to the basic safety instructions
included in this chapter!
Make sure that people leave the hazardous area of the machine,
before moving or starting the machine! Particularly be aware of
children!
Never carry passengers or objects on the machine! Carrying
passengers and transport of objects are not allowed on the
machine!
Adapt your driving such that you have always safe control over
the machine!
Consider your personal abilities as well as the road, traffic,
visibility and weather conditions and the driving characteristics of
the machine.
Avoid sudden changes of direction, in particular when travelling
uphill and downhill and when traversing hills!
Beware when driving in reverse gear.
The following measures are imperative before carrying out any
work on the machine such as adjusting work or trouble-shooting:
secure the machine against accidental starting and rolling,
secure lifted machine parts / the lifted machine against
accidental lowering.
Use of machine
A
cquaint yourself with all mechanisms and operating elements o
f
the machine and their functions before starting work! During
operation it will be too late.
Wear close-fitting clothing! Loose-fitting clothing increases the
risk of becoming entangled in or wound up at drive shafts or
moving parts!
Start the machine only if all protective devices have been
installed and are in protective position!
