Before splicing, collect all of the necessary equipment.
[Operating procedures]
The following is a summary of the steps required to make a splice with the fusion
splicer. For further information on each step, please see the page described below.
• TYPE-71C
• Optical fiber being spliced
• Jacket remover
• Fiber cleaver
• Pure (more than 99%) alcohol
• Lint-free gauze wipes
• Fiber protection sleeves*
*Note that the applicable fiber protection sleeves
vary depending on the cleave length.
