There are 4 sliding surfaces on the Y guiding rail on which the tool carriage slides from left to
right. Two sliding surfaces (1) at the front of the guiding rail and 2 sliding surfaces at the rear
of the guiding rail (2), directly behind the visible sliding surfaces at the front. Although the
shape of the Y guiding rail may vary from model to model, the sliding surfaces are in the same
place at the top and bottom of the guiding rail.

Over time, the sliding surfaces and the rollers of the tool carriage may become dirty with
accumulated residue.
Cleaning the sliding surfaces of the Y-guide rail:
1. Switch off the machine.
2. Take a soft cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol or a mild detergent.
3. Clean the surfaces. When the tool carriage is in the way, carefully move it to the left or
right.
