10.3.7. CHECKING THE OPERATION OF THE STEPPING MODE SELECTION KNOB AND
SLIDE
1. Move the selection knob to set stepping mode A. Check that the microswitch is released and that
the machine receives its signal. Also check that the selection slide is able to move freely up and
down the bars, and that the pedals are effectively independent.
2. Move the selection knob to set stepping mode B (dependent stepping motion). Check that the
microswitch is pressed and that the machine receives its signal. Also check that the slide is
locked and that the pedals are effectively dependent.
3. Working in stepping mode A, check the state of wear of the slide along the full length of the
bars. Replace if there are evident signs of wear and/or adjust the alignment of the guide bars.
4. Lubricate the guide bars of the slide using general-purpose grease.
10.3.8. CHECKING THE ALTERNATOR BELT
