Fuel specification
The use of high-quality fuel is a prerequisite for achieving the engine output
specified.
Recommended
fuel
specification
• N590-diesel engines - Auto/C0/C1/C2/C3/C4
• BS2869 Class A2
• ASTM D975-91 Class 2-2DA, US DF1, US DF2, US DFA
• JIS K2204 (1992) Class 1, 2, 3 and special class 3.
Sufficient fuel
specification
• ASTM D975-91 Class 1-1DA
• JP7, MIL T38219 XF63
• NATO F63
Fuel with low
sulfur content
Only use commercially available brand-name diesel fuel with a sulfur content of
less than 0.5 %.

Note
If sulfur-free fuel is used, additions to lubricants must be used.
Note
The fuel specification listed below is sufficient but may reduce the life
expectancy of the fuel injection system.
