Secondary Clutch Removal

1. Remove the screws (17) that secure the clutch cover
to the backing plate. Remove the clutch cover.
2. Remove the CVT belt.
3. Remove the secondary clutch bolt (18), and slide the
clutch from the rear differential input shaft (Ref. Fig.
6).

Secondary Clutch Installation
1. Coat the rear axle input shaft with a light coat of anti-
seize compound and slide the clutch onto the shaft.
2. Install the clutch bolt (18) and tighten to the torque
value specified:
Draining the CVT
If water gets into the CVT, use
the following procedure to dry it
out before operating:
1. Park the vehicle on a level
surface and move the
gear shifter to the P (park)
position.
2. Remove the drain plug
(12) from the bottom of
the CVT cover.
3. Allow the water to drain completely.
4. After all of the water has drained out, replace the
drain plug.
5. Start the engine.
6. Allow the vehicle to idle for 20 - 30 seconds to
remove moisture from the clutch system.
7. Apply the brakes.
8. Move the gear shifter to L (low) range.
9. Test for belt slippage. If the belt slips, repeat the pro-
cess.
10. Take the vehicle to your dealer for service as soon
as possible.
