3. Click OK. The forepump evacuates the inlet valve.
4. When the Safe to Open the Valve message appears (Figure 69), click OK.

5. Pull the inlet valve lever up to open the inlet valve.
6. Slide the probe into the vacuum manifold until the tip of the probe is fully inserted into
the ion volume holder. See Figure 70.
