Solution:Ensurethat:
–Themonitorinformationiscorrectandtheappropriatemonitortypeisselected.Ifnecessary,update
themonitordriver.
–Ensurethatanappropriaterefreshrateisselectedbydoingthefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoan
electricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,anddothefollowing:
–ForWindows7:ClickScreenresolution.
–ForWindows10:ClickDisplaysettings➙Advanceddisplaysettings.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clickDetectintheDisplaywindow.
4.Clicktheiconfortheappropriatemonitor(Monitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
5.Dothefollowing:
–ForWindows7:ClickAdvancedsettings.
–ForWindows10:ClickDisplayadapterproperties.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.
7.Selectthecorrectscreenrefreshrate.
•Problem:Wrongcharactersaredisplayedonthescreen.
Solution:Ensurethatyoufollowthecorrectprocedurewheninstallingtheoperatingsystemand
program.Iftheyareinstalledandconfiguredcorrectly,buttheproblemstillpersists,havetheexternal
monitorserviced.
•Problem:TheExtenddesktopfunctiondoesnotwork.
Solution:EnabletheExtenddesktopfunction.See“Usinganexternaldisplay”onpage36.
•Problem:IamusingtheExtenddesktopfunction,butIcannotsetahigherresolutionorhigherrefresh
rateonthesecondarydisplay.
Solution:Changetheresolutionandthecolordepthtolowersettingsfortheprimarydisplay.See
“Usinganexternaldisplay”onpage36.
•Problem:Displayswitchingdoesnotwork.
Solution:IfyouusetheExtenddesktopfunction,disableit,andchangethedisplayoutputlocation.If
aDVDmovieoravideoclipisplaying,stoptheplayback,closetheprogram,andthenchangethe
displayoutputlocation.
•Problem:Thescreenpositionontheexternalmonitorisincorrectwhenthatmonitorissetforahigh
resolution.
Solution:Sometimes,whenyouuseahighresolutionsuchas1600x1200pixels,theimageisshiftedto
theleftorrightonthescreen.Tocorrectthis,firstensurethatyourexternalmonitorsupportsthedisplay
mode(theresolutionandtherefreshrate)thatyouhaveset.Ifitdoesnot,setadisplaymodethatthe
monitorsupports.Ifitdoessupportthedisplaymodeyouhaveset,gotothesetupmenuforthemonitor
itselfandadjustthesettingsthere.Usuallytheexternalmonitorhasbuttonsforaccesstothesetupmenu.

•Problem:WaveorMIDIsounddoesnotplayproperly.
Solution:Ensurethatthebuilt-inaudiodeviceisconfiguredcorrectly.
