Solution:Therattlingnoisemightbeheard:
–Whentheharddiskdrivebeginsornishesgettingaccesstodata.
–Whenyoucarrytheharddiskdrive.
–Whenyoucarryyourcomputer.
Thisisanormalcharacteristicofaharddiskdriveandisnotadefect.
•Problem:Theharddiskdrivedoesnotwork.
Solution:OntheBootmenuofThinkPadSetup,makesurethattheharddiskdriveisontheBootpriority
orderlist.IfitisontheExcludedfrombootorderlist,itisdisabled.Selecttheentryforitonthelist
andpressShift+1tomoveitbacktotheBootpriorityorderlist.
•Problem:Aftersettingaharddiskpasswordontheharddiskdriveofthecomputer,youmovedthedrive
toanothercomputer.Nowyoucannotunlocktheharddiskpassword.
Solution:Yourcomputersupportsanenhancedpasswordalgorithm.Computersolderthanyoursmight
notsupportsuchasecurityfunction.
Asolid-statedriveproblem
Problem:WhenyoucompresslesorfoldersbyuseofthedatacompressionfunctioninWindows,andthen
decompressthem,theprocessofwritingtoorreadingfromthelesorfoldersisslow.
Solution:ApplythediskdefragmentationtoolinWindowsforfasteraccesstothedata.
Asoftwareproblem
•Problem:Aprogramdoesnotruncorrectly.
Solution:Makesurethattheproblemisnotbeingcausedbytheprogram.
Checkthatyourcomputerhastheminimumrequiredmemorytoruntheprogram.Refertothemanuals
suppliedwiththeprogram.
