2.Makesurethatthecardiscorrectlyoriented:
•ForExpressCard:Thenotchededgeofthecardisfacingupwardandpointingtowardtothecardslot.
•Forashmediacard:Themetalcontactsarefacingdownwardandpointingtowardthecardslot.
3.Pressthecardrmlyintothecardslot.
Toinstallasmartcard,dothefollowing:
1.Locatethe54mm-wideExpressCardslot.See“Locatingcomputercontrols,connectors,and
indicators”onpage1.
2.Installthesmartcardintoa54mmsmartcardreader.Youcanpurchasea54mmsmartcardreader
fromLenovo.
3.InsertthesmartcardreaderintotheExpressCardslotrmly.
Iftheplug-and-playfeatureisnotenabledfortheinstalledExpressCard,ashmediacard,orsmartcard,
dothefollowingtoenablethefeature:
1.OpenControlPanel.
2.ClickHardwareandSound.
3.ClickDeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconrmation.
4.FromtheActionmenu,selectAddlegacyhardware.TheAddHardwareWizardstarts.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
