NOTE: The chargereliefvalveis attachedtothe piston
pump back plate (Fig. 49). The back plate must be re-
moved to service the relief valve.
NOTE: The piston (traction) pump is equipped with re-
lief valves for both the forward and reverse direction.
Dueto engineoutput, itis unlikelythat tractionpressure
willreachreliefvalvesettings.If,however,a pumprelief
valveisleakingorotherwisefaulty,tractionperformance
would be affected.
IMPORTANT: Theshimkit(item7)isusedtoreplace
theoriginalcrushring(notshown)inthec overplate
(item 25). If t he camplate (item10), coverplate (item
25) or housing (item 29) is replaced during servic-
ing,the oldcrushring mustbe replaced. SeePiston
