Changing the Engine Oil and Filter
Service Interval : After the rst 50 hours —Change
the engine oil and engine-oil lter .
Every 75 hours —Change the engine oil (more
frequently when operating conditions are
extremely dusty or sandy).
Every 150 hours —Change the engine-oil lter
(more frequently when operating conditions are
extremely dusty or sandy).
Note: Change the engine oil and lter more frequently
when the operating conditions are extremely dusty
or sandy .
1. Start the engine and let it run 5 minutes to allow
the oil to warm up.
2. Park the machine on a level surface.
3. Disengage the PT O, lower the cutting unit, and
engage the parking brake.
4. Raise and secure the hopper , and open the
engine-access cover; refer to Accessing the
Engine from the Engine-Access Cover ( page
47 ) .
5. Shut of f the engine and remove the key .
6. Change the engine oil and engine-oil lter as
shown in Figure 57 .
7. Close the engine-access cover and lower the
hopper; refer to Lowering the Hopper ( page 33 ) .
Note: T ighten the lter until the oil-lter gasket
touches the engine, and then turn it an extra 3/4
turn.
