Ensurethattheuidowindicatorarrowontheowmeteris
showingthattheuidwillowfromthepump,throughthetester,
andintothedisconnectedhydraulichose.
9.PlaceasteelcaponTttingtoblockthehydraulicuidowtofrontrightand
rearrightwheelmotors(Figure54).Alsoinstallthesteelplugsintheopen
endofthedisconnectedhosetopreventleakageorcontamination.
10.Installthetesterwithpressuregaugeinserieswiththepumpand
disconnectedhoseofrearleftandfrontleftmotors(Figure54).Makesure
thetesterisinstalledinthecorrectowdirectionandthetesterowcontrol
valveisopen.
11.Usethehydraulichosekittoconnecttestertothemachine;refertoSpecial
Tools(page2–15).Ensurethatthettingandhoseconnectionsareproperly
tightened.Also,ensurethattheowcontrolvalveonthetesterisfullyopen.
CAUTION
Duringthisprocedure,allthewheelswillbeoffthegroundand
rotating.Ensurethatthemachineiswellsupportedsoitwillnot
moveandaccidentallyfalltopreventinjuringanyonearoundthe
machine.
12.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed.Checkforhydraulic-uidleaks
fromthetestconnectionsandcorrectbeforecontinuingthetest.
13.Withtheenginerunning,movethethrottletofullspeed(3,210rpm)position.
Useaphototactocheckthattheenginespeediscorrect.
14.Verifythepumpowatnoloadasfollows:
A.Slowlypressthetractionpedaltofullyforwardposition.
B.Recordthetesterpressureandowreadingsatnoload.Unrestricted
pumpoutputshouldbeapproximately63LPM(16.7GPM).
15.Verifythepumpowunderloadasfollows:
A.Slowlypressthetractionpedaltofullyforwardposition,andkeepthe
pedalpressedfullforward.
B.Applyanadditionalloadof150to170bar(2,175to2,465psi)byslowly
closingtheowmeter.
C.Recordthetesterpressureandowreadingsunderload.
16.Verifythetractionreliefvalveoperationasfollows:
A.ReturnthetractionpedaltotheNEUTRALposition.
B.Fullyclosetheowmeterowcontrolvalve.
C.Slowlysetthetractionpedaltofullforwardposition.
D.Recordthetesterpressurereading.
Thesystempressureshouldreach280bar(4061psi)beforetherelief
valveopens.
Note:Thereliefvalvesettingis285bar(4133psi).Anadditional5
bar(70psi)isnecessarytoovercomesystemchargepressurebefore
thereliefvalveopens.
