GeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents
BeforeRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
1.Beforeremovinganypartsfromthehydraulicsystem,parkthemachineona
levelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,turntheengineOFF ,settheparking
brake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Cleanthemachinebeforeyoudisconnect,remove,ordisassemblethe
hydrauliccomponents.
Note:Cleanlinessisnecessarywheneveryouworkonthehydraulic
equipment.Ensurethatyoucleanthehydrauliccomponents,hoses,
connections,andttings.
3.Labelallthedisconnectedhydrauliclinesandhosesforproperinstallation
afterrepairsarecompleted.
4.Notethepositionofthehydraulicttings(especiallyelbowttings)onthe
hydrauliccomponentsbeforeremoval.
Note:Marktheparts,ifnecessarybeforeremovalandensurethattheyare
alignedproperlywheninstallingthehydraulicttings,hoses,andtubes.
WARNING
Beforedisconnectingordoinganyworkonthehydraulicsystem,
releaseallthepressureinthesystem;refertoReleasingPressure
fromtheHydraulicSystem(page5–5).
5.Thehydraulicuidmaybehot.Becarefulwhenyouloosenandremove
thehydraulicsystemcomponents.
6.Installcleancapsorplugsonthehydrauliclines,hydraulicttings,and
componentsthatareleftopenorexposedtopreventhydraulicsystem
contamination.Captheopeningassoonasthelineorportisexposed.
AfterRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
1.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary.Usethehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedinthetraction
unitOperator'sManual.
IMPORTANT
Drainandllthehydraulic-systemtankandchangethehydraulic
uidltersifthecomponentfailureissevereorthesystemis
contaminated;refertothetractionunitOperator’sManual.
2.LubricatetheO-ringsandsealswithcleanhydraulicuidbeforeinstalling
thehydrauliccomponents.
3.Removeallthecapsorplugsfromthehydraulictubes,hydraulicttings,and
componentsbeforeconnectingthemagain.
