IMPORTANT
Flushthehydraulicsystemwheneverthereisaseverecomponent
failureorthesystemiscontaminated(forexample,theuidappears
milky,black,orcontainsmetalparticles).
IMPORTANT
Ifacomponentfailureoccursinthetractioncircuit;refertothe
TractionCircuitComponentFailure(page5–6)forinformation
regardingtheimportanceofremovingcontaminationfromthe
tractioncircuit.
1.Ensurethatthehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperatureby
operatingthemachineforatleast10minutes.
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page5–5).
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagetheparkingbrake,lowerthe
cuttingdeckandstoptheengine.Removekeyfromthekeyswitch.
Note:Ensurethatyoucleanallthehydraulicconnectionsthatare
disconnectedfordraining.
3.Drainthehydraulicuidfromthehydraulicreservoir;refertotheOperator’s
Manual.
4.ReadandadheretotheinformationprovidedinGeneralPrecautionsfor
RemovingandInstallingtheHydraulicSystemComponents(page5–63).
CAUTION
Flushthehydraulicsystemwiththehydraulicuidaswarmas
possible,buttopreventadditionalsystemdamage,DoNotoperatea
machinewithcontaminatedhydraulicuidtowarmtheuidbefore
draining.
IMPORTANT
Followalllocalcodesandregulationswhenrecyclingordisposing
thehydraulicuidandlters.
5.Cleantheareaaroundthemountingareaofthehydraulic-uidlter.Remove
andreplacethehydraulic-uidlter.
