PrimingtheHydraulicPump
Whenthehydraulicsystemisushedorchargedorthehydrauliccomponents
areinstalled,itisimportanttoproperlyprimethehydraulicpumps.Thehydraulic
pumpprimingensuresthatthehydraulicpumpshavesufcientuidduringinitial
start-upandrunning.Thepumpcanbeprimedbyusingaremotestarterswitch
(refertoSpecialT ools(page2–15))tocranktheenginewhichallowsthepump
toprime.
Usethefollowingproceduretoprimethehydraulicpumps:
1.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionandthekeyisremoved
fromthekeyswitch.
2.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
