6.Drainthecompletehydraulicsystem.Drainallthehoses,tubes,and
componentswhilethesystemiswarm.Flushthehosesandtubestoremove
anycontamination.
7.Ensurethatthemountingsurfaceofthehydraulic-uidlterisclean.Apply
cleanhydraulicuidtothegasketonnewlter.Tightenthelteruntilthe
gasketcontactsthemountingplate,thentightenthelter3quartersofaturn.
IMPORTANT
Usingotherhydraulicuidscoulddamagethehydraulicsystem.
UsethehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedintheOperator’sManual.
8.Fillthehydraulicreservoirwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulicuid;
refertotheOperator’sManual.
9.Disconnecttheelectricalconnectortothefuelstopsolenoidtopreventthe
enginefromstarting.
10.Primethehydraulicpump;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPump(page5–70).
11.Connecttheelectricalconnectortothefuelstopsolenoidtoallowtheengine
tostart.
12.Starttheengineandoperateatlowidlespeedforminimumof2minutes.
Increasetheenginespeedtohighidleforaminimumof1minuteunder
noload.
13.Raiseandlowerthecuttingdeck,hopperassemblyservertimes.Turnthe
steeringwheelfullyleftandrightseveraltimes.
14.Shutofftheengineandcheckforhydraulicuidleaks.
Note:Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrect
quantityofuidifnecessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
15.Operatethemachinefor2hoursundernormaloperatingconditions.
16.Checktheconditionofhydraulicuid.Ifnewuidshowsanysignsof
contamination,repeatsteps1through15againuntiltheuidisclean.
17.Whenthehydraulicuidisfreefromcontamination,assumenormaloperation
andfollowtherecommendedmaintenanceintervals.
