4.Useadigitalmultimeter,touch1testleadtotheholdcoilterminalandthe
othertestleadtothefuelstopsolenoidframe(ground).Theresistanceof
theholdcoilshouldbeapproximately15ohms.
5.Replacethefuelstopsolenoidifthetestingdeterminesthatitisdamaged.
6.Connectthewireharnessconnectortothefuelstopsolenoid.
TestingtheFuelStopSolenoid(Live)
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,shutofftheengine,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Locatethefuelstopsolenoidontheengineanddisconnectthewireharness
connectorfromthesolenoid.
Note:Thesolenoidcanberemovedfromtheengineortestedinplace.
3.Ifthesolenoidisremovedfromtheengine,ensurethatthesolenoidplunger
movesfreelyandisfreeofdirt,unwantedmaterial,andcorrosion.
Note:Whentestingtherunsolenoid,usetestleadswithatleast14gauge
wire.
4.Connectapositive(+)testleadfroma12VDCsourcetothepullcoiland
holdcoilterminals.
5.Touchanegative(-)testleadfromthe12VDCsourcetothefuelstop
solenoidframe(ground).Thesolenoidshouldengage,makinganaudible
click,andtheplungershouldretract.
6.Removepositive(+)voltagefromthepullcoilterminal.Thesolenoidshould
stayengaged.
7.Removepositive(+)voltagefromtheholdcoilterminal.Thesolenoidshould
release.
8.Replacethefuelstopsolenoidifthetestingdeterminesthatitisdamaged.
9.Connectthewireharnessconnectortothefuelstopsolenoid.
