platetothecuttingunitframe.RemovetheLHsideplatefromthereelshaft,
rollers,bedbarassemblyandcuttingunitframe.
CAUTION
Contactwiththereel,bedknife,orothercuttingunitpartscanresult
inpersonalinjury.
Useheavygloveswhenremovingthecuttingreel.
10.CarefullypullthecuttingreelwiththebearingsandsealsfromtheRHside
plate.
11.Inspectandservicethecuttingreelassemblyasnecessary;refertoReel
AssemblyService(cuttingunitswithpaintedsideplates)(page9–33).
InstallingtheReelAssembly
1.Cleanthesideplatesandothercuttingunitcomponents.Inspecttheside
platesforwearordamageandreplaceifnecessary.
Note:Checkthatthegreasesealsonthecuttingreelshaftareushto1.5
mm(0.060inch)awayfromtheretainingringonthereelshaft.Ifnecessary,
adjustthepositionofthegreasesealsforproperclearance.
2.Makesurethatgreasesealsandbearingsareproperlygreasedand
positionedoncuttingreel(seeReelAssemblyServiceinthissection).Apply
thincoatofgreasetooutsideofgreasesealsandbearingsoncuttingreel
toeasereelinstallation.Also,applygreasetobearingboresandthreadsin
sideplates.
CAUTION
Contactwiththereel,bedknife,orothercuttingunitpartscanresult
inpersonalinjury.
Useheavygloveswheninstallingthecuttingreel.
IMPORTANT
Duringcuttingreelinstallation,keepinnerandouterbearingraces
aligned.Ifbearingracesarenotaligned,bindingwilloccurandreel
installationmaycausebearingdamage.Usereelbearinginstallation
tool(Toropartnumber117-0975)tohelpwithbearingalignment
duringreelinstallation.
3.Usingreelbearinginstallationtooltokeepreelbearingaligned,carefullyslide
thecuttingreelwithbearingsandgreasesealsintotheRHsideplate;referto
(page).Makesurethatbearingisfullyseatedintosideplate.
4.OntheLHsideplate,loosenthesetscrew(item20)andback-off(loosen)
thebearingadjusternut1completeturn.
5.SlidetheLHsideplateontothecuttingreelassembly,frontrollerandrear
roller.MakesurethatreelendinRHsideplatedoesnotshiftinposition.
