6.12 Program 15: Isothermal
For liquids when the manufacturer recommends autoclaving at 60C
(140F) with no drying. Recommending for melting of agar,
pausterization etc.
Caution: This is not a sterilization program!
Nominal parameters default settings
Heating temperature: 60C (140F).
Heating time: 20 minutes.
Operations sequence:
Heating stage; steam enters the chamber and warms up until the
sterilization temperature 60C (140F) is reached inside the chamber.
Sterilization temperature is maintained constant for the preset
sterilization time.
Slow exhaust, steam is slowly exhausted from the chamber, until the
pressure equals the atmospheric pressure.
Note:
For isothermal cycles, insert one PT100 temperature sensor into the
liquid, and allow the other PT100 temperature sensor to hang loose inside
the chamber, (see the figure below).
For proper sterilization, ensure all the bottles are filled with
approximately the same amount of liquid.
