Troubleshooting
Timing belt too tight
Product backed up past
seal into spindle interior.
Rate of discharge too
slow.
Lack of oil mist lubrica-
tion
Improper oil used in lubri-
cator
Bearing failure — usually
caused by water in spin-
dle.
Foreign material in prod-
uct.
Impeller tips contacting
reduction head from ex-
cess belt tension.
Failure to install either
wear ring.
Improper assembly of mi-
crocut head.
Sudden surges in prod-
uct feed or abrupt, inter-
mittent feeding.
Timing belt too tight or
too loose
Use of wrong belt
Uneven product feed rate
Loosen tension of timing belt by unbolting motor
and sliding toward spindle.
Get product away from machine as rapidly as
possible.Wash machine thoroughly at least
once a day. Repair spindle, see “Spindle Re-
pair”, page 53.
Check lubricator oil level and air pressure. Lubri-
cator should be operating at 15 P.S.I. (1.04 bar).
Clean and adjust lubricator if necessary, see
page 43.

Avoid using high pressure water at seal area
during clean-up because of the danger of forc-
ing water past impeller shaft seal.Do not con-
taminate oil mist lines with water.
Explore methods of removing foreign material
from product before it enters the Comitrol
processor.
