A simple way to generate these values is to imagine four 16-bit quantities
having the following names and values: LOG=AAAA, CSR=CCCC,
SQI=F0F0, SIG=FF00. The flag value needed to represent a given logical
combination of threshold outcomes is obtained as the result when that
same logical combination is applied to these special numbers.
