8.3.2 Rinsingwith PurifyingAgent
Afterpre‐purificationbycompressedair,residualliquidmaystillbepresentinsidethefluid
system(particularlywhendispensinghigh‐viscoussubstances).Youcanonlyremoveitwitha
flushingprocedure.Forthispurpose,thefollowingagentsmaybesuitable:
Distilledwater
Ethanol
Isopropanol(IPA)
Acetone
WARNING!(potentialchemicalreactions)
Beforethestartoftheprocedure,carefullyreadthesafetydatasheetofthedis‐
pensedsubstance.Ensurecompatibilitywiththecleaningagent.Thecleaningagent
itselfshouldnotreactwithanypartincontactwiththefluid.Consultthemanufactur‐
erincaseofneed,
especiallyifaggressivematerialisintendedtobeused.Incaseof
need,consultthemanufacturer.
Step1: Thedispensingprocessmustbecompleted.Thevalveisinclosedposition.
DoNOTswitchOFFthecontrolunit.
Step2: Separatethecompressed‐airconnection.
Thepressuremustbereduced
to0bar.
DisconnectthePPadapterfittingfromthecartridge.
Step3: Replacetheusedcartridgebyanewone.Thepurifyingagentcanbesupplied.
CAUTION!
Alloftheconnectorsmustbeinstalledandleak‐tight.
Step4: Reinstallthecompressed‐airconnectionasfollows:
PlacethePPadapterfittingonthecartridge.Rotateclockwise,untilitlatchesinplace.
ConnectthePVChosewiththeKS4‐CK‐6couplerplugtoacompressed‐airsupply.For
thispurposeyourequireaKD4‐1/2‐Acouplersocket.
Activatethecompressed‐airsupply.
Step5:
Placeacontainerunderneaththevalve,tocollectanyliquiddrippingout.The
containerneedssufficientcapacitytocontainthepurifyingagenttogetherwith
thesolvedresidualliquid.
Step6: Initiatethepurgingprocedurebypressing[F1].
Keepthe[F1]keypresseduntiltheprocedureiscompleteandnomore
liquid
flowsoutthroughthenozzleunit.

Afterca.2minthevalveclosesautomatically,inordertoprotecttheactuator.
Alternatively,theprocedurecanbeperformedviatheRS‐232Cinterface.
UsethecommandsVALVE:UPandVALVE:DOWNforthispurpose.
Step7: Separatethecompressed‐
airconnectionandremovethecartridge.
Step8: Makesurethecollectedliquidinthecontainerisdisposedofaccordingtolocal
regulation.
