tionalInstruments.ThesoftwarerunswithWindowsversionsupfromXP.Theserialinter‐
faceitselfis
structuredaccordingtoSCPIstandardandworkswithsoftwarehandshake;
hardwarehandshakeisnotused.
7.1.3.1 Installation
Toinstallthesoftware,proceedasfollows.
Step1:StarttheInstallation‐Setup.
UnpacktheCD.
InsertittothecorrespondingdriveofaPC.
Openfolder“MDCCommunicator“.
Openfolder“installer1.2“.
Executesetupfile(size1,391KB).
Step2: Waituntiltheinstallationisprepared.
Step3: Choosethedirectoryrequiredforinstallationoftheprogram.
Step4: Acceptthelicenseagreementandpress“NEXT“.
Step5: Press“NEXT“oncemoretostarttheinstallationwhichmay
lastsomeminutes.
Returntotheprecedingwindowbypressing“BACK”.
Step6: Whentheinstallationiscomplete,press“FINISH“.
Step7: Choosebetweenthethreeoptions“Restart“,“ShutDown“and“RestartLater“.

Step3: Specifytheporttobeusedfortheconnectionofthecontrolunit(Com1ispreferred).
Step4: Thesoftwareautomaticallyrecognizesthecontrolunit,notifying“HV
detected“.

Afterselection,pressbutton“WritestringtoMDC“.
Step2: Someofthecommandsrequestforparameterinput,tobeperformedassoonas

thevalueshastobeconfirmedby
“OK”.Dataareloadedintheprogramatonce.Selectabledatacanbefoundinthe
menu“StringtoWrite“.
