8.3.1 Pre‐purifying
Pre‐purifyingconsistsinpurgingthesystemwithcompressedair.
CAUTION!(potentialliquidspurts)
Duringthisprocedure,liquiddropletsmaybeexpulsed!
Usersmustprotectthemselvescorrespondingly.
Step1: Thedispensingprocessmustbecompleted.Thevalveisinclosedposition.
DoNOTswitchOFFthecontrolunit.
Step2:
Separatethecompressed‐airconnection.
Thepressuremustbereducedto0bar.
DisconnectthePPadapterfittingfromthecartridge.
Step3: Replacetheusedcartridgebyanewone.
Step4: Reinstallthecompressed‐airasfollows:
PlacethePPadapterfittingonthecartridge.Rotate
clockwise,untilitlatchesinplace.
ConnectthePVChosewiththeKS4‐CK‐6couplerplugtoacompressed‐airsupply.For
thispurposeyourequireaKD4‐1/2‐Acouplersocket.
Activatethecompressed‐airsupply.
Step5: Placeacontainerunderneaththevalve,tocollect
anyliquiddrippingout.
Step6: Initiatethepurgingprocedurebypressing[F1].
Keepthe[F1]keypresseduntiltheprocedureiscompleteandnomoreliquid
flowsoutthroughthenozzleunit.

Afterca.2minthevalveclosesautomatically,inordertoprotecttheactuator.
Alternatively,theprocedurecanbeperformedbytheRS‐232Cinterface.Usethecommands
VALVE:UPandVALVE:DOWNforthispurpose.
Step7: Separatethecompressed‐airconnectionandremovethecartridge.
Step8: Makesurethecollectedliquidinthecontainerisdisposedofaccordingtolocalregu‐
lation.
