Electrical Installation
Chapter 3: Electrical Installation
In this chapter, the electrical installation of the Liebert® PEX+ CW series is explained in-depth to help with the
various tasks such as the installation notes, cable connections of the indoor unit and the inspection checklist.
3.1. Installation Notes
• The connection of all power cables, control cables, and ground cables should comply with the local and national electrical
regulations.
• The electrical installation and maintenance must be performed only by authorized trained professional or personnel.
• Refer the unit’s nameplate for the full load current. The cable sizes should meet the local cabling norms and rules.
• Mains supply requirement: 380 Vac (-10% to +15%), 50 Hz, 3N
• If the soft power cable uses Y-connection, and if the cable is damaged, it must be replaced only by professional service
personnel.
• Before the wiring, use a voltmeter to measure the power supply voltage and ensure that the power supply is switched o.
• The applicable grid for this air conditioner: TN, TT star connection power system; consult Vertiv local representative for
other connections details.
• A breaker device must be provided to disconnect the unit from power supply. The recommended breaking type is
EN60947; the recommended power cable type is EN60227.
• A breaker of 30 mA leakage current device should be provided.
3.2. Cabling of Indoor Unit
• Locating Electrical Ports of Indoor Unit
The locations of the low voltage devices are visible after opening the front door of the electrical control box of
the indoor unit, as shown in Figure 3-1.and Figure 3-2 for upflow and downflow units respectively. The detailed
distribution information of the low voltage components are dierentiated according to the labels.
