• Do not touch the engine or muffler while the engine is running or immedi-
ately after it has been turned off.
• Do not operate a machine when its fuel cap is loose or missing.
• Do not start the engine if fuel has spilled or a fuel odor is present. Move
the machine away from the spill and wipe the machine dry before start-
ing.
• Do not use the machine in areas with risk of explosion or fire.
Refueling safety
• Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.
• Refill the fuel tank in a well-ventilated area.
• Install the fuel tank cap after refueling.
• Use tools specifically meant for refueling (for example, a fuel hose or
funnel).
• Do not smoke when refueling the machine.
• Do not refuel a hot or running engine.
• Do not refuel the engine near sparks or open flames.
3.7 Reporting Safety Defects
If you believe your trailer has a defect which could cause a crash or could
cause injury or death, you should immediately inform the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in addition to notifying WackerNeu-
son.
If NHTSA receives similar complaints, it may open an investigation; and if it
finds that a safety defect exists in a group of trailers, it may order a recall
and remedy campaign. However, NHTSA cannot become involved in individ-
ual problems between you, your dealer, or WackerNeuson.
