INSTALLER AND USER SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
• Place a sign next to the trac light with the text: “One Vehicle Only per Cycle”.
• Adequate lighng can be placed near the SpeedGate to ensure good visibility on both sides of the
gate.
• A maximum height sign must be indicated on the SpeedGate. A height signaling system can also be
installed.
You are advised to place a security camera near the SpeedGate. This has the following advantages:
• Connual surveillance of the SpeedGate so that appropriate measures can be undertaken if a
dangerous situaon arises.
• A collision will be noced.
• It is possible to show clearly what the cause of the collision was.
• Sabotage of the SpeedGate will be noced immediately.
Safety Instrucons for Maintenance
Use checklists for recording repairs and maintenance to the SpeedGate, and maintain permanent logs of
all gate inspecons, maintenance, servicing and repair acvies.
Weekly inspecons shall include checking the SpeedGate site lighng, tesng the gate system to ensure all
sensors (inherent and external entrapment devices) are operang in accordance with gate programming
and UL standards, and ensuring photo eyes are clean. If used, safety edges and vehicle detecon loops
must be tested and in good working order. See “Inspecon, Servicing and Maintenance” on page 129.

weekly basis can increase the risk of
injury or death.
