WIRING INSTALLATION
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
• You must disconnect all supply circuits before
opening the enclosure to access the terminals!
• Any wiring, tesng and maintenance work on
an open controller shall only be performed
when power has been turned o.
• When the controller has been turned o,
dangerous voltage levels can sll be present
for up to 5 minutes.
• There is no isolaon between the power stage
and the motor terminal.
• Touching electronic components is dangerous
due to residual voltages.
• Before switching on the gate controller for the
rst me and aer compleon of the wiring,
check whether all connecons are ght.
• Before turning on the controller’s supply for
the rst me, make sure that the detector/
sensor cards (plug-in modules) are inserted
in the right places. Incorrect inseron of the
cards may damage the controller, as well as
the installaon of non-approved third-party
equipment.
• Aer compleng the installaon, check the
correct conguraon of the system and the
proper funconing of the safety systems.
Parameter sengs and the speed as well as
the operaon of the safety devices must be
checked.
• Switching on or operang the controller
when condensaon is present is not
permied. This can destroy the controller.
• The controller may only be opened if the
supply voltage has been switched o on all
poles.
• Never operate the controller without
connecng the protecve earth conductor.
The absence of a protecve earth conductor
will result in hazardous voltages on the
controller’s enclosure due to high leakage
capacitances.
• Hazardous voltages remain stored in the DC
bus capacitors for up to 5 minutes aer power
has been turned o. The discharge me unl
voltages fall below 50 VDC is a maximum
of 5 minutes. Touching internal controller
components within this discharge me is
hazardous.
• A defecve switching power supply can
considerably increase the discharge me of
the DC bus capacitors before reaching a voltage
less than 50 VDC. In this case, discharge mes
of up to 10 minutes may be possible.
• If the voltage of the 24 V regulator is short-
circuited or overloaded, the switching power
supply will not start up even though the DC
bus capacitors are charged. The displays
remain o. The power supply can only be
restarted aer eliminang the short circuit or
overload condion.
• Screw the cables to the terminals before
placing the terminals on the pin connectors.
This ensures safe contact between terminals
and connectors.
