WIRING INSTALLATION
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
You must disconnect all supply circuits before
opening the enclosure to access the terminals!
Any wiring, tesng and maintenance work on
an open controller shall only be performed
when power has been turned o.
When the controller has been turned o,
dangerous voltage levels can sll be present
for up to 5 minutes.
There is no isolaon between the power stage
and the motor terminal.
Touching electronic components is dangerous
due to residual voltages.
Before switching on the gate controller for the
rst me and aer compleon of the wiring,
check whether all connecons are ght.
Before turning on the controllers supply for
the rst me, make sure that the detector/
sensor cards (plug-in modules) are inserted
in the right places. Incorrect inseron of the
cards may damage the controller, as well as
the installaon of non-approved third-party
equipment.
Aer compleng the installaon, check the
correct conguraon of the system and the
proper funconing of the safety systems.
Parameter sengs and the speed as well as
the operaon of the safety devices must be
checked.
Switching on or operang the controller
when condensaon is present is not
permied. This can destroy the controller.
The controller may only be opened if the
supply voltage has been switched o on all
poles.
Never operate the controller without
connecng the protecve earth conductor.
The absence of a protecve earth conductor
will result in hazardous voltages on the
controllers enclosure due to high leakage
capacitances.
Hazardous voltages remain stored in the DC
bus capacitors for up to 5 minutes aer power
has been turned o. The discharge me unl
voltages fall below 50 VDC is a maximum
of 5 minutes. Touching internal controller
components within this discharge me is
hazardous.
A defecve switching power supply can
considerably increase the discharge me of
the DC bus capacitors before reaching a voltage
less than 50 VDC. In this case, discharge mes
of up to 10 minutes may be possible.
If the voltage of the 24 V regulator is short-
circuited or overloaded, the switching power
supply will not start up even though the DC
bus capacitors are charged. The displays
remain o. The power supply can only be
restarted aer eliminang the short circuit or
overload condion.
Screw the cables to the terminals before
placing the terminals on the pin connectors.
This ensures safe contact between terminals
and connectors.
