Installation and Connection
Figure 5.33: Connection of the SSW7000 to the motor.
ATTENTION!
In order that the protections based on the current reading and indication (motor overload for
example) operate properly, the motor rated current must not be less than 20
rated current.
We do not recommend the use of motors that operate in steady state with load of less than 50%
NOTES!
The majority of medium voltage motors are special and able to withstand high starting duties,
therefore, also special protection methods must be used:
1. The electronic overload protection must be adjusted according to the data supplied by the
manufacturer of the used motor.
2. It is recommended to use thermal sensors for the motor protection.
5.2.9. Grounding Connection
The SSW7000 must obligatorily be connected to a protective earth (PE). The grounding connection
must comply with the local regulations. Use at least the wire gauge indicated in the table 5.19
.
Connect it to a specific grounding rod, or to a specific grounding point or to the installation general
ground (10 ohm resistance).
Use a specific conductor to the ground, never use the neutral conductor.
