1.2 DTV 720 Overview
The standard DTV 720 Transport Stream Multiplexer (Figure 1.1) receives up to two ASI
input MPEG Transport streams and provides two identical ASI output streams for
connection to cable system transmission equipment. The input Transport streams are
multiplexed, and programs may be remapped or selected for removal from the output
stream.
The DTV 720 has two input option slots that can increase the number of input streams to
four. The options available are two ATSC 8VSB broadcast demodulators or an additional
single ASI input option that has two ASI input MPEG Transport stream inputs. The DTV
720 has an optional output slot available for either a DHEI output stream or a Gigabit
MPST output stream.
