8.1 Types of Errors
The diagnostic system indicates on the touchscreen display if an error has occurred. The printer is set into
one of the three possible error states according to the type of error.

8.2 Problem Solution
Problem Cause Remedy
Print image has smears or voids Printhead is dirtyt Clean the printhead.
Temperature too high Decrease the temperature using
the driver.
Unsuitable combination of labels
and transfer ribbon
Printer prints a sequence of char-
acters instead of the label format
Printer is in ASCII dump mode Cancel the ASCII dump mode.
The printer conveys the labelling
material but not the ribbon.
The diameter of the carboard core
in use is too large.
Use a carboard core with a
smaller diameter.
Printer only prints every second
label
The format setting in the driver is
too large.
Change the format setting in the
driver.
Transfer ribbon wrinkles Transfer ribbon feed path not
adjusted
