Maintenance Procedures
Hydraulic Fluid and Filters - Change
1. Turn engine off and remove ignition key.
2. Remove fill cap (1).
3. Remove drain plug (2) from bottom of hydraulic
tank. Drain fluid into a suitable container.
4. Install drain plug.
5. Remove tank inspection covers (3).
6. Inspect inside of tank for contamination. Clean tank
if contamination is found.
7. Clean tank inspection covers (3). Install new cover
gaskets. Install tank covers.
8. Change return and charge filters.
Refer to
"Hydraulic Return Filters", page 5-32 and
"Hydraulic Charge Filters", page 5-32 for
information on changing filter elements.
NOTICE: Do not spill contaminants into tank. Filter all
hydraulic fluid through a 5-micron filter before adding to
tank.
9. Refill hydraulic tank. Refer to
"Specifications", page A-1 for correct hydraulic fluid.
10. Clean and install fill cap.
11. Start engine and check for leaks.
12. Stop engine and repair any leaks that were found. Maintain fluid level in middle of sight
gauge (4).
