Maintenance Procedures
Hydraulic Charge Filters
1. Remove charge filters (1).
2. Clean filter bases. Remove old seals.
3. Install new filters by hand. When gasket contacts
filter base, turn filter an additional 270 ° (3/4 turn).
CAT oil filters have rotation index marks spaced at
90 ° increments. Use marks as a guide for
tightening.
NOTICE: Do not spill contaminants into tank. Filter all
hydraulic fluid through a 5-micron filter before adding to
tank.
4. Refill hydraulic tank. Refer to
"Specifications", page
A-1 for correct hydraulic fluid.
5. Replace fill cap.
6. Start engine.
7. Repair any leaks.
8. Check hydraulic fluid level. If bubbles are present in
the fluid, air is entering hydraulic system. Inspect
suction line for leaks.
Hydraulic Return Filters
1. Remove filter (1).
2. Clean filter base. Remove old seal.
