Cleaning or Removing Material
Elevator Cleanout
The elevator is equipped with a cleanout door for access to the elevator slats and chains for
inspection, cleaning and material removal.
In the event of a stalled or plugged elevator, if hopper is not fully loaded with material, run elevator
in reverse to remove material from chute and back into dump hopper. If dump hopper is full it may be
necessary to open the dump hopper cleanout door to allow elevator and hopper material to discharge
onto ground.
NOTICE: Do not run dump hopper augers and elevator continuously in reverse if hopper is nearly
full. Auger and hopper damage may occur if material is forced against hopper wall. Alternate elevator
between reverse and forward to free the stalled elevator.
If stalled elevator cannot be started or the plug will not
move, open elevator floor cleanout door.
NOTICE: Lowering hopper with cleanout door open may
result in damage to door. Close dump hopper cleanout
door before lowering hopper.
If equipped with optional windrow attachment, raise and
latch the windrow/elevator cleanout door frame stop.
1. Ensure hopper cleanout door is closed.
2. Partially raise elevator and unpin elevator cleanout
door pry arms (1).
3. Swing arms down and pin to frame (2).
4. Release cleanout door latches (3).
5. Raise elevator to open door (4).
6. Engage lift stops.
7. Run elevator in reverse to remove material from the
chute of machine. Material will discharge down the
drop-out floor and onto the ground.
8. Turn engine off and clean material off of cleanout door. Be certain to get all material cleaned off
of the sealing edges or door will not fully close.
9. Start engine and lower elevator until elevator forces door to close. Verify that material is not
keeping door from closing.
10. Latch door.
WARNING
Falling door can crush. Door can open unexpectedly when stuck closed.
To open door, pin swing arms to frame before raising elevator. Keep clear
of raised door if latches are released.
