Limiting Access to Scanning
The Scan Lock options limit access to scanning by requiring a password to use the Scan function. You can
also turn off scanning.
To set the Scan Lock:
1. At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
2. Touch Tools, then touch Admin Settings.
3. If prompted, enter the four-digit password, then touch OK.
4. Touch Secure Settings.
Note: Before you set the service locks, enable Panel Lock. For details, see Enabling Panel Lock on
page 75.
5. Touch Service Lock.
6. Touch an option:
− Email: Limits access to an email service.
− Scan to Network: Limits access to the Network option.
− Scan to PC/WSD Scan: Limits access to the PC and WSD options.
− Scan to USB: Limits access to the USB Memory option.
7. Touch an option:
− Unlocked: Enables the selected function.
− Password Locked: Requires a password to use the selected function. Enter a new 4-digit
password, then press OK.
− Locked: This option disables the selected function.
8. Touch OK.
