● Selecting between SFC and Stepped FBD or LD
There are no definite criteria for selecting between SFC and stepped FBD or LD.
The decision is generally by personal discretion based on an engineer’s knowledge,
experience and competency.
However, the execution of an SFC action block is selected from multiple qualifiers so
it is important to understand the the differences about action qualifiers.
Moreover, an SFC action block is executed twice, once each on step entry and exit.
Before creating applications using SFC, it is important to fully understand these
unique behavioral characteristics of SFC.
