This appendix includes warnings for hazardous locations, installation issues, and operational activities. See also
the General Care and Traveling sections of the Care and Maintenance on page 43 of this User Guide.
Here are the important environmental warnings and hardware ratings of this tablet.
These ratings and warnings apply to models iX101L1 & iX101L2 only.
• Hazardous location designation: Class I, Division 2 Groups A, B, C, and D Hazardous Locations
• Ratings 19 Vdc, 3.42 A or 12-20 Vdc, 4.7-3.25A
• Operating temperature code
– “T6”
• Ambient temperature range: -20°C to 40°C
WARNING: Here are important safety issues about your tablet and its use.
Please be aware of the following issues.
This tablet is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C
and D hazardous locations, or nonhazardous locations only.
Here is a listing of the explosion hazards to avoid:
• Explosion Hazard—The L10 tablet is to be only powered from the bater y paac wh i le in
hazardous locations. Power adapter is not certified to use in hazardous locations and not to be
used in hazardous locations.
• Explosion Hazard—The audio port, USB ports, USB type-C port, HDMI port, docking connectors,
antenna pass-through ports, and optional RS-232 port are
NOT for use in hazardous locations. see
installation instructions.
• Explosion Hazard—The microSD card slot, SIM card slot, and battery pack are
NOT to be removed or
replaced while the circuit is live unless the area is free of ignitable concentrations.
• Explosion Hazard—To prevent ignition of a hazardous atmosphere, batteries must only be changed or
charged in an area known to be non-hazardous.
Replace battery with model XLBM1 or XLBE1, manufactured by Simplo Technology Co Ltd.
• Explosion Hazard—The battery lock screw must be engaged when used in a hazardous location.
