Linkaggregation(alsocalledtrunk)bindsmultiplephysicalports
intoalogicport.Linkaggregationistoimplementloadbalanceof
outgoing/incomingtrafcamongtheseports.Switchdecidesfrom
whichportpacketsaresenttotheoppositeswitchdependingon
theportloadbalancepolicyconguredbyusers.Whendetecting
thelinkofoneportisbroken,switchstopssendingpacketsfrom
ituntilitisrestoredtonormal.Linkaggregationisquiteimpor-
tantinincreasinglinkbandwidthandimplementingtransmission
elasticityandredundancy.
ZXR105900Esupportstwolinkaggregationmodes:
Statictrunkdirectlyaddsmultiplephysicalportstothetrunk
group,thusformingalogicport.Thismodeisnotsuitablefor
observingthestateofthelinkaggregationport.
LinkAggregationControlProtocol(LACP)followsIEEE802.3ad
standards.Itconvergemultiplephysicalportsintothetrunkgroup
toformalogicport.Itautomaticallygeneratesaggregationtoob-
tainthemaximumbandwidth.
Itisnecessarytoobservethefollowingrulestocongurethelink
aggregationfunctionforZXR105900E.
�Congurationisdoneforatmost32trunkgroups,withatmost
eightportsineachtrunkgroup.
�Cross-interfaceboardaggregationissupported.Memberport
canbelocatedonanyinterfaceboard.Selectedmemberports
mustoperateinfullduplexmodeandhavethesameworking
rate.
