2 OPERATION
2.1 STATUS INDICATORS
2.1.1 IGNITION LED
When lit this LED notifies the operator that the vehicle’s ignition has been turned on, which will
then turn on the DVR. LED will be blinking when ignition is turned on and until DVR completely powers
up.LED will also blink very quickly when ignition is turned off and until DVR powers off completely.
2.1.2 POWER LED
When lit this LED notifies the operator that system power is on.
2.1.3 ERROR LED
When lit this LED notifies the operator that the system has encountered a problem and cannot
continue normal operation. Please call tech support for troubleshooting procedures.
2.1.4 VIDEO LOST INDICATOR LED
When lit this LED notifies the operator when any of the enabled cameras loses video signal,
examples: camera cable is damaged,cable is not securely connected or a camera failure has occurred.
2.1.5 RECORD LED
When lit this LED indicates the DVR is recording.
2.1.6 HDD ON/OFF LOCK
The HDD On/Off lock mechanism is employed to secure the hard drive and prevent
unauthorized access and internal circuitryallows the DVR to shut down safely before removing the hard
drive. Users MUST wait until all lights are off on DVR before removing the hard drive. Turn the key to
position “Close” to lock media storage or Open” to unlock. The ZEUS will NOT record video if the lock
mechanism is in the “Open” position
2.1.7 MEDIA STORAGE REMOVAL
The media storage is hot swappable and can be removed and inserted without turning the
vehicle ignition off. This process will take roughly 15 to 30 seconds to complete. The feature is helpful
when access to video is needed but vehicle is required to remain running. User can remove the media
storage and insert a new one so that the needed video can be retrieved right away.
1. Turn key to the “Open” position:
This process is necessary so that the ZEUS can properly close all video/audio files
and safely turn the HDD power off. Open the door and wait until all lights are off. Note:
the ignition light will remain illuminated when the vehicle ignition is on.
2. Gently pull media storage out from the bay
3. Insert new media storage, close the door.
4. Turn key to the “Close” or locked position:
The ZEUS will now turn the HDD power on, detect the new media and start
recording again.
