Introduction
Although it is unlikely that any one of these examples will
match your configuration in its entirety, it is hoped that
some parts will.
These examples provide an illustration of how certain
features of the OfficeConnect
®
Internet Firewall should
actually be used (to back up the information in the rest of
this manual), and also how some of the more advanced
features can be set up, and be beneficial to you.
The examples themselves are hypothetical, and so you
should not try using any of the IP addresses (except the
default IP addresses of the Internet Firewall and LAN
Modem), or phone numbers given below, as they will not
work. However, the theory behind the examples still applies
when the examples are used in the real world. For example,
all the IP addresses are in the correct subnet where they
need to be, so that the configuration would work if the
addresses were actually used on the Internet.
All examples can be applied to both the Internet
Firewall 25 and Internet Firewall DMZ. The only exception
to this is the second example, which makes use of the DMZ
port of the Internet Firewall DMZ, and so the settings and
