Checklist for Setting up the Internet Firewall
37
The Internet Firewall has a default IP address of
192.168.1.254 (my.3com.com), which you use to access it
when you set it up initially. During this initial set up, your
PC must have an IP address in the same subnet as the
Internet Firewall (192.168.1.200 for example).
The next step depends on whether you have decided to use
the Internet Firewall as a DHCP server or to retain an
existing DHCP server.
If you are using the Internet Firewall as a DHCP server
you will now need to set all of the PCs on your network
to obtain their IP address automatically.
If you are using an existing DHCP server then you will
need to alter the Default Gateway address in your
existing DHCP server configuration to the IP address of
the Internet Firewall.
This brings you to the end of Quick Set-up using the
Internet Firewall Wizard.
