Chapter 9: Saving to and Loading from Disk

The fields and soft keys are:
• The Sound field:
This field contains an alphabetical list of the sounds in the file. Use
the data entry control to select one of the sounds.
• The Size field:
This shows the amount of memory in kilobytes that will be required
in order to load the selected sound.
• The Free(snd) field:
This shows the number of free kilobytes in sound memory.
• The <Load it> soft key:
Pressing this soft key loads the sound from the file.
COMMENT: If a single sound is being loaded from an ST1
file and the actual sound to be loaded exists on the corre-
sponding ST2 disk, a screen will appear asking you to insert
the ST2 disk.
Loading a PAR File (System Parameters)
If a PAR file is selected for loading in the Load File screen and
<Load it> is pressed, a screen will appear warning you that all
existing system parameters in memory will be erased. To load the
file, press <Load it> in that screen.
Files That Automatically Load on Power-Up
If a disk is in the drive when power is turned on, the MPC3000 will
load from the disk the first APS (all programs and sounds) file that
it finds, including all sound files used by the APS file. If more than
one APS file exists on the disk, the first one found will be loaded. If
no APS files exist on the disk, up to 24 PGM (program) files will
then be loaded into consecutive program numbers (including all
