Console Port
The Console port uses an RJ-45 connector to provide serial console access for the
7705 SAR-M. The Console port is used to configure router and system parameters. It can also
be used for monitoring purposes. It supports baud rates of 9600, 19 200, 38 400, 57 600, and
115 200. The port also supports 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit. The Console port
provides connectivity for the RS-232 CLI craft terminal interface. Connect the Console port
to a terminal using a shielded RJ-45 CAT5E cable. Shielded cable must be used to maintain
EMC compliance.
Console Port Pinouts
Table 34 specifies the Console port pin assignments.

the 7705 SAR-M, using IEEE 1588v2 messaging. Only output Time of Day is supported. The
port includes a 1 pulse per second signal and provides connectivity for the RS-422 CLI Craft
Terminal Interface. The default baud rate is 115 200.
Shielded cable must be used to maintain EMC compliance.
