7705 SAR-M Chassis Installation Guide 99
Figure 24: Wiring the +24 VDC Power Supplies
For +24 VDC Installations
Follow these steps to wire and connect +24 VDC power feeds (see Figure 24):
Step 1. For CBN installations only, ensure that the negative terminal on the DC power
source is connected to ground.
Step 2. Make the battery return ground connection(s) (Figure 24, key item 7):
i. Run a length of wire from the power source negative terminal to the terminal
strip on the router.
ii. Prepare the end of the wire at the power source according to local safety
practices and attach it to the power source negative terminal.
iii. Prepare the end of the wire at the router by attaching a ring lug (see Figure 22).
iv. Attach the battery return wire to the correct battery return terminal on the
router. For +24 VDC systems, use the -Batt terminal. Tighten to a torque of
8 to 10 lbf-in (0.9 to 1.13 N
.
m) maximum.
v. For redundant power supply configurations, repeat substeps i to iv for the other
battery return wire.
