Hydraulic Brake Pad Inspection (Steering Brakes)
Inspect the steering brake pads after every 25 hours of operation. Worn, glazed or con-
taminated brake pads aect the eciency of the brake system. To inspect the pads, rst
remove the rewall.
To remove the rewall:
1. Remove the six (6) fasteners securing the rewall using a socket and ratchet wrench.
2. Pull the rewall rear-ward moving the throttle cable clear of the area at the steering
column that it is routed through.
3. Lift the rewall clear of the driving compartment.
With the rewall removed, both hydraulic brake calipers are visible. Each caliper has 2
brake pads which are secured by a single bolt fastener. Inspect all 4 brake pads.
Replace the pads when:
the brake lining material moulded to
each metal backing plate is worn to 0.10"
thickness.
the pads are glazed and brake perfor-
mance is aected.
the pads are contaminated with lubricant,
and brake performance is aected.
