Additionally special cables are available that make it possible for the test to be
started with the safety tester first. With these special cables, the electrical safety
tester and the 620L will operate in a master/slave configuration. The test will be
initiated from the front panel TEST button of the accompanying electrical safety
tester. Once the test is complete, the electrical safety tester will send a signal to
the 620L to begin any subsequent leakage tests.
Note: The PLC Remote parameter in the 620L’s System Menu screen
must be turned ON for this option to work.
Note: In this configuration the electrical safety tester will send test signal
to the 620L but is not able to send a reset signal once the test on the 620L
has started. RESET button on the 620L would need to be pressed at the
end of the test sequence in order to reset the 620L or abort a test.
In the above configuration, the 620L will act as a “feed-though” for the electrical
safety tester, providing the necessary high voltage and high current signals to the
DUT through the DUT Power Outputs (line and neutral) and the CASE
connector. The adapter box as well as the standard test leads may be used with
this option.
When using the interconnect option, the High Voltage
output of the electrical safety tester must be limited to 3.5
kV and the Current output must be limited to 40A in order
to keep from damaging the 620L.
The standard 10 AWG black cables (included) are not
equipped to handle the high voltages associated with a
Hipot test. When using the 620L with option 03
Hipot/Ground Bond Interconnect, make sure to use the included 10 AWG white
high voltage cables for the DUT Power Output connections.
