15. Fluid recovery (pump down)
During uid recovery, make sure that the compressor is powered o before remov-
ing the refrigerant lines. Do not remove the refrigerant line if the compressor is
operating with an open 2- or 3-way valve. This can result in abnormal pressure in
the refrigeration cycle which can cause damage to the unit or injury.
The outside unit has been designed for a refrigerant volume for a refrigerant pipe
of up to 20 m.
Switch o the heat pump and prepare the manifold and the hoses by pumping with a
vacuum pump.
Set the unit to cooling test mode (see section “11.4. Diagnostics and checking oper-
ation”, page 108). Connect the blue hose to the 3-way valve. The charge manometer
should then indicate low pressure.
Close the 2-way valve. The pressure read on the pressure gauge begins to drop.
If the pressure drops below 0.1 MPa (1 bar) on the
manifold, the pump down process is complete. Close
the 3-way valve.
Remove the blue hose.
